Creating social and financial value through the housing market
Objectives
As a social enterprise, our aim is to provide sustainable market solutions for today's housing market. The foundation will operate within market dynamics and will look to combine traditional methods with social economic innovation, to facilitate both home ownership and residential leasing. In doing so, we will also be cultivating environments where communities can flourish both socially and financially. The foundation will primarily look to provide solid answers to people whose income disqualifies them from receiving conventional social accommodations, but still find difficulties navigating the free market on their own.
On the 13th of January 2022, through a public deed between the Archdiocese of Malta and the Government of Malta, the foundation was officially established. The foundation was established as a social enterprise, marking the first time third sector entered into play in Malta's housing market. Jake Azzopardi was appointed as the CEO of the Foundation for Affordable Accommodation in May 2023.
